About Us
The Inishfree School of Irish Dance was founded in 1985 by Sean Reagan, ADCRG, TCRG. Since its opening, Inishfree has established itself as one of the premier schools in the world, having trained three world champions. Inishfree was the first Irish Dance School in North America to obtain a male and female world champion.
Since 1985, Inishfree has grown across the state and country, with locations in Teaxas and Massachusetts. Inishfree New York is comprised of the Long Island chapter, with class locations in Massapequa, Port Jefferson, Selden, Shoreham/Wading River, Sayville, and Bohemia. The Inishfree “North” chapter is comprised of the Bronx, Westchester, and Rockland County with classes in City Island, Woodlawn, and Pearl River.
Inishfree hosts an annual feis (Irish Dance Competition) in Massapequa, having over one thousand local dancers attend every year. Along with their own competition, Inishfree sends dancers across the world every year to compete against dancers from Ireland, England, Canada, Scotland, and more. In addition to competition, Inishfree New York has been featured across the Tri-State area with performances at City Field for the New York Mets, Sesame Street, Disney Productions in Central Park, the Irish Consulate in New York City, the New Jersey Nets, and Channels 7, 11, 12, and 21 for various specials.
The school continues to promote Irish Dance and culture, accepting new students every year. With dancers ranging from just three years old to over thirty, Inishfree welcomes students of all ages and experience.
